going big bore 750
04 Jan 2006 02:33
Gday guys, new here.
Im doing up a GT750 at the moment and i am wondering what setup i can run in this engine to increase displacement while i have the cases split as i have to bore the liners anyway (pitting) i thought i may aswell go all out. i know about the wiseco 810 kit and it looks like the way to go, as i can keep the standard liners in it. anyone have any more ideas or tips, maybe stroking somehow, topend off a bigger bike? I also have a donor gpz/zx 1985 motor to scab parts off.
i have put a post in the newbie section with photos of where im at.
thanks
Jay

Hi Jay... Not sure what a GT750 is... will check out pics. I suspect it is a non-US model? In any case, I suggest you edit your profile / signature and put your bike year/model and location in your signature so your tech questions have context.
I am also curious about your statement:

I know of no lines inside the cases. What are you referring to.
As far as bumping displacement, not sure what your performance goals are but Wiseco is one of the few viable larger piston kits I know of. It is also a fairly expensive option given the cost of the kit and cylinder boring.

This is a GT750 in the UK:
Shaft drive, rather soggy air suspension, cams are midway between a (K)Z750 and a GPz. A favourite of couriers due to the shaft drive and relative simplicity. 810 with some GPz cams and carbs would be a good start but they have limited ground clearance so are never going to be really sporty.
