...and I'd like to know what I'll have to weld to make it hang on my LTD, but I guess that can wait until I can afford the pipes.

You have to take them off to change the oil.
Believe this is correct with regard to the X-pipe with crossing underneath the engine.
But the cross-over dual exhaust version from Z1E appears to allow access to the oil plug and filter without removing the exhaust system, with crossing in front of the engine.
