KZ1000P/J Exhaust Flanges/Inserts was created by 415ZR1
Application is 1995 KZ1000P...basically same as a heldover KZ1000J.
I'm installing an aftermarket 4-1 header and have found the 8 split flanges (Kawasaki calls 'em "Insert Exhaust Pipe") to be too short. Noticed that the flanges (Kaw part # 92027-170) depicted on factory fiche for a 1979 KZ1000 to be much longer.
Before I scurry off to the local dealer, are these the ones I should be using?
Thanks, John

I've always just stacked up two gaskets. It's always worked fine for me.

The double gasket suggestion did the trick...well actually, new copper gackets over the old copper gaskets. One gasket, new or old wasn't enough. Also replaced the exhaust studs with ARP stainless studs bought cheap off of eBay.
Ended up using the -1300 inserts with two copper gaskets. Pipes used were a Murray X and a V-H with the steel flanges cut-off, 2.5" collector outlet and a shorty auto glass pack with 2.5" straight through core.
