I just bought a 1979 kz650SR off eBay after i got it home i noticed that the front of the valve cover has some vents on it that my other kz650 doesn't have ..My question to all you kz guys is ..Is there a difference inside the motor or is it just some venting difference Thanks in advance for any help and the help i have already received...Melvin......

'79 is when the emission laws really started to stiffen up on motorcycles, and those vents were part of the emissions system Kawi put in place.
Most of us have either capped them off, ran a hose from one to the other, or removed the reed valve assemblies and the covers and fabbed nice covers to seal them up.
