seeking: 650 engine

I killed my baby. Filter came loose and I lost major oil on the highway. Engine is trashed. I couldn't feel like more of an idiot.

Anyway, I'm looking for a new engine. 1977-1983 KZ650.

If you know of any such engine for sale please let me know. It's going to a good cause. She's a '78 in beautiful condition.

I'm willing to drive anywhere in the mid-Atlantic, or I'll pay for shipping if you can box up the engine.

750 4 cylinder engines will fit right in. Just some electrical will need to be changed over as well, but it's another option if a 650 engine can't be found.

I can probably find a 650 engine for you at the local cycle salvage, but with shipping and I don't know how much they want for a working engine you might just use this as a last resort. however, I do know that at one point they had more kz motors than they knew what to do with.

There's a KZ650 engine on eBay right now ( Kawasaki KZ650 KZ650B 77 Engine Motor Core 041885) which the seller states has "one weak cylinder" = might just need the cylinders honed and new ring sets.

$49.99 sounds like a fair price to me. And if the seller is close enough to you, you won't have to shell out for shipping.

I have several 650 engines, an 81 that had the head removed for use on a 700, a 78 that is good and complete,another 81 complete, a 77 locked from sitting, I'm in massachusetts
