KZ650 timing with a dyna s ignition?

What it did was the exhaust and intake got caught together and bent I did set it to 36 after I heard the first one snap back. It's too late though I was so mad

yea when i built my first 650 engine i had no manual and i was just trying to figure it out on my own, and i ended up having the exhaust and the intake valves opening at the same time. Being nieve and not checking i just kept trying to start it, then i realized the valves were opening at the same time. After i got it together properly (at least i hoped) it ran better than it ever did. Damn i got lucky.

Thank you rstnick. I have been lining the ex line on the exhaust up with the head not the arrow... on the hyvo chain ones you had to line up the ex line fro exhaust cam and the in line on intake between 45 and 46... this is way different. I need to find new valves now

Ok, I tried putting it in time that way and it worked perfect. It has no compression so it definitely needs new valves Thank you all for your help I know now how to put it in time

I feel for ya jordan, twenty five years ago I bent a valve doing something similer to what happened to you. I removed head and found one bent valve. Went to local Kaw shop and mechanic installed new valve ($11) for free! I know you don't know what valve(s) are bent but found this on ebay, may help?

Or you can come and get the complete cylinder head that you said you wanted and your problem will be solved.
