I want a external oil filter
09 Jul 2007 18:52
Where could I find a external oil filter like the one in the pic? It would add oil capacity, would filter better than the internal filter and it would be soooo much easier to change.

K&N offers remote oil filter kits....I bought one for my 3.0L Toy 4x4 pick-em-up several years back.
Can't recall what I spent for it though.

if you are thinking about running a remote oil filter
on a 900/1000 i would strongly advise against it,the 900/1000's do not make enough oil pressure to use one of these filters.

I agree with fastest these bikes only make 2to3 psi oil pressure.the burning question on my mind is what kind of carb setup is that.

With this in mind, would want to assure the external filter also has a by-pass arrangement.

I beg to differ here. We ran a remote filter on a dragbike for 2 seasons with no ill effects. Although I doubt it would pass tech now ,it did allow for a small amount more oil but we did it to have easy access to the filter for changes.
