Starter trouble fixed!!
07 Jul 2007 13:59
I tried all kinds of things to fix
my slow running starter. New battery, cable cleaned connections.... I finally bit the bullet and bought a starter off ebay. It is from a Honda Cb1000 and supposedly stronger. This thing turns over QUICK. No more problems and it went in real easy. The only mod I had to make was the positive connection is in a different spot and I had to grind out a small 1/4" chunk out of the inside of the sprocket cover for clearance but no big deal.

That's cool!
Wish I could locate a stronger starter to replace the woefully anemic one on my ZN700.

That's good to hear, the fact that a Honda starter work is too, with a simple mod. Good work.
