I am installing a 4 into 1, on my kz750, the header was originally from a kz 650 i believe. The two split flanges from my 750 are too short and I was wondering if KZ650 flanges were longer? I'me sure alot of you on here can answer this question and your help would be greatly appreciated.:) :) I reallllyyyy want to get my bike back out on the road so I can piss off my neighbors again:evil:

Question, please. Does this mean with new crush gaskets, the nuts tighten the exhaust clamp against the head without compressing the gasket?

Usually, correct fit leaves a small gap between the clamp and head surface.

I have needed to slightly shorten too long split collars to gain a more perfect fit. But never attempted to add length to them.

Perhaps the thicker exhaust gasket available from Z1E might be considered. :)

EDIT -- checked the Z1E site, but don't see the thicker gasket listed for KZ750.

Also, is the flange on end of new header obviously thinner than flange on old header?

If the header has a rolled flange on the pipe ends your stock collars and split rings should fit it just like your stock exhaust.

I have solved my problem!!! But thanks for your help anyway. The early 650's have longer collars than the 750's. I ordered new ones and should be back on the road soon.
