Engine Cover Compatibility - J-Motor was created by Maverick
Hello all,

I'm wondering if any of the engine covers from the 73-80 engines are compatible with the J motor. Specifically, the clutch cover, alternator/stator cover and the points/pulse generator cover. Let me know?

Cheers,

Maverick

Maverick...I have both style bikes/motors and none of the major engine covers will swap...'cept maybe the pulse cover, like PLUMMEN said:) and I'll double check that tonight if you'd like, when I get home.

Thanks guys. McDroid, if you wouldn't mind checking the points cover when you get home, that would be great! :)

Mav:

The points cover from my 1977 Z1000A is the same diameter as the pulse cover for my Z1100B2 and the bolt holt spacing is identical...HOWEVER, the J motor crankbolt sticks out further and the Z1000A cover doesn't fit flush...so, while a J motor pulse cover will fit on a old-style motor, the reverse is NOT true.
