RonKZ650- Does the engine need to be in a particular spot ie. #1 at TDC to do the cam chain adjustment? Waiting for the big Kawi manual to show up but should do this soon.

I forgot I had the mini users manual in the glove box, it has more info in it than my neighbors clymer and haynes manuals put together!

Adjusted the cam chain, points gap, and timing. Low end, idle to 3000 rpm much better and crisper. Still have a ticking sound(need to adjust valve lash) and a sort of knock at cold start-up from down low which tends to quiet down after warming up (when sitting on the bike I hear it on the left side, but if lay down on the ground the knock seems to be loudest down under by the oil pan). Any ideas?
