Is there any difference between an advance for the points and the electronic ignition on a kz 650? What about between a kz 650 and 750? Thanks

Might try comparing part numbers from the kawasaki.com site.

The reason Im asking is after swapping motors I think I put the 77 650 advance on my 82 750 motor. Im thinking that it could be part of the issues Im having with bogging. The part numbers are different, 21148-011 for the 77 and 21148-1013 for the 82.

I think the only difference might be the springs, but not sure, bogs or flat spots most of the time are carb related

I found the only major difference between the KZ1000 advancer and the 650's was the springs.

The 1000's on the right has less windings in the spring. Also the backing plate was a little different, but still fit. 650's is on the left.

I'd suspect the 750 and 650 would be the same, but I'd count the spring windings to be sure.
