Good points. Although the tank mounts shouldn't make much difference to the buzz felt in the seat and foot rests. I plan to do the other checks when I do the valve clearance check.

My sprocket ratio is 16/38 which helped to move the buzz up in MPH from the stock 16/41 ratio. On the 650B and the project SR I went up one tooth on the front to 17 while leaving the rear stock at 42 and 41 respectively.

The buzz in the seat is really the problem area as certain areas get numb.

what about the wheel bearings, front and rear, also have you had the tires rebalanced, may not be a engine thing since it seems to be mph related

It's not MPH related. It's directly related to engine RPM and is reproducible in any gear. Run at 70 MPH indicated, tach at 5400 RPM and mirrors are clouded, pull in the clutch and let engine idle and mirrors clear right up and buzz goes away.

That was one of my first tests early on when I first got it back on the road and noticed the buzz.

It's still less buzzy than my KL250 was! ;)
