baffling... was created by vach
I have a V&H exhaust... I waws wondering... The baffle in my bike is super scrunched in the exhaust making my bike very very quiet.. Can this effect my power? The bike seems super slow and quiet. I can't run the bike w/out a baffle where I live.. I guess I could trim it down.. Could this be the cause of my powerless bike.. It was running awsome and then it got real quiet. Now it's like I'm on a 250 or something.. Am I choking the motor of free flowing exhaust? I would think it might have more low end this way but it's just slow all around...:(

sounds like you may not be firing on all cylinders if u got that big of a power loss out of nowhere.

I know I am going to get yelled at for this but as a quick check ..

fire up the bike .. let the pipes get hot (not crazy hot. Spit a bit of water on each pipe (just a little). They should all sizzle. If one doesn't .. then it aint firing. If that is the case .. it can be a bunch of things.

Next step .. check for spark and a good plug. If that is fine, you may have a carb problem and need to clean them.

No, it's hitting on all 4.. I just brought it from Indiana where i was running no baffle.. My baffle is all messed up and scrunched up.. the bike is like i have stock exhaust on it.. Exhuast can play a huge part in performance, that's why I was wondering if i can actually choke it if my exhaust is very obstructed.. It's not flowing at all... it moght even be quieter than stock... what would happen if I choke the exhaust power wise? All power band drop? Or just top end?

"My baffle is all messed up and scrunched up.."

Is it possible that the rust has caught up with your baffle? If the steel has collapsed from heat and corrosion it will certainly affect performance.

it can act like the Bannana in the tail pipe, try cutting some of it off, also are you sure its not a sound thing, first time I had to put mufflers on the race car I swore it was not running near as fast
