Andrews cam question was created by kawtoy
I have a set of cams but not sure they will work with my set up. They are Andrews, intake is 8X (.410 lift, 266 deg duration) exhaust is 4X (.430 lift, 286 duration). I not familiar with what cams will work with what setup. I have 80 KZ1000, 10.25:1 compression, 34mm carbs, accel coils, dyna ignition, light port and polish, Vance & Hines sidewinder with open megaphone. Will these cams be worth a crap with this setup? Will I need to go to under bucket shims? Will I need to clearance the head and valve cover? Thanks in advance.

Pingel says anything over .420 needs shim under buckets. I would probably go with the s.u.b. just in case.

i have my head out right now to get cleared for the cams.
i did the cover myself.
shim unders are being used so it don't spit a shim at higher rpm's
nice staggering of profiles but i think they will come to life in the upper range

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.
