reverse thread bolt on 750 twin
13 Jun 2007 07:27
This is for a 1976 750 B1 TWIN
Is the bolt that holds the rotor on the end of the crankshaft a reverse thread?
I am in need of one.

Go figure!
I got off my lazy butt and looked up disassembly in the manual (the bike is 30 miles away right nowa). Right there in black and white it says: This bolt is a reverse thread and is to be installed by turning it counter clockwise.
I guess next time I should RTFM!

If you don't have access to enough compressed air to run an air impact wrench, then an electric one does a decent job, and makes things an awful lot easier.
So far, I have not needed to borrow the 1" impact from the shop
