This feature is Kawasaki's "positive neutral finder". All Kawasakis have it. It's designed to help you select neutral from first when at a standstill, instead of second.

I did read it and answered correctly... most folks are not going to sit there with the chain off and spin the countershaft sprocket in order to shift the bike to test it... most are going to START ENGINE and engage the transmission and try to drive away; especially if they have no centerstand.
