engine life ?

I have a 1978 KZ 650 and a 1979 KZ 1000 I ride them both and now have reached 30K miles on both, is it time to do some work on them? or how many miles can I expect from them ? Thanks Robu

as long as they have been taken care of they can run a long time;)

I think RonKZ650 has the record with over 100k miles on a KZ650, I think it was somewhere around 160k miles, but I'm not sure.

Thanks, looks like nothing to worry about for a long while .

My original engine made it to 44,000 miles, before rod knock killed it. I got it with 38,000 on the ticker. Change the oil and filter often. Cheap insurance.

Mine just turned over 50,000mi and runs killer! I run 20-50wt and change oil every 1,000mi, filter every other change. Keep riding!!

Here's 2 of my 650s. These 2 combined with the 1979 KZ1000 is 306,000 miles. That one closest in the picture is the one that has 167,000 on it. Went over 130,000 without a rebuild. It was getting "a little" tired though.
