i'v observed that the cam cap bolts should only be bolted to 10ft-lbs, any others that'll snap easily?

head bolts?

oil pan?

cam cover?

pushrod guides?

Any of the 6mm bolts (10mm head). Like I said before stay at 5 or 6 ft/lb. 10 will strip the cam caps and valve cover bolts.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I actually saw some of them recently on a Chevy S-10 2.5l motor that the guy wanted me to put a head gasket on.

So they DO exist. Sometimes. On underhead cam, overhead valve motors.

Wireman, you gotta get out more is all.

I only torque my cam cap bolts to 100 inch pounds. With a 25 year old bike, the bolts have been removed/installed many times and the threads are weak. Plus, former owners did not know what a torque wrench was and stripped out the bolts. I have had to helicoil all the cam cap bolts on two of my bikes. The other 10mm bolts I only tighten screwdriver tight, I use a nut driver....chris3

Don't over tighten the muffler bearing bolt or it can cause a loss of blinker fluid.
