Kz1000A1 Cluch !!! was created by dog pound
Good Day all, I am almost done of you KZ Bobber and when I put the cluch back together I almost need 2 hands to pull it in. The basket moves in and out but when I put it in gear and pull in the cluch it will not move freely. I checked the adjustment and all looks good. The bike has been sitting for a while, the clutch plates seem to stick,

Any suggestions!!!

Take the clutch pusher assembly off the
other side of the motor and make sure the
cable and worm gear assembly work free.
Pull out the pusher shaft and check for
grooves or rough spots. If all these are
fine the problem is in the basket somewhere.
If the slots in the inner or outer basket
have any grooves or rough spots the plates
can hangup.

You might want to check some easy stuff first. When i had that problem it was my cable. there was a kink in it under the tank. make sure the cable is routed properly with no sharp bends.

Just switch out my stock bars for some drag bars and wouldn't ya know it the clutch was really hard to pull in. I went and got a shorter cable (for a KZ750 I believe) and made sure the cable run was smooth without any sharp bends. My clutch feels better now than when I first got the bike. When I got my bike it only had 3600 miles on it so it was pretty much like brand new. I am loving it now, that clutch is like butter1

Do the adjustment by the book , starting from the bottom .AND soak the fiber plates in clean oil until they stop "blowing bubbles" A few hours if they are new or dry.
