you should have no problem building a big inch turbo z for less than $10,000 just dont go crazy with $10,000 worth of shiny stuff( wireman!!!!!!!:P ).the problem with runnng nitrous by itself is when the bottle runs dry so does the hp:S

If that Z1R was a 78' , send it to the scrap heap or park it somewhere nice, But don't ever tubo 1 of those. I have riden the limited edition american turbo pack Z1R. Same poor handling with a turbo !rip!

Get a KZ 1300 and run dual turbos and 25 lb boost

I have had some scary rides on the KZ1170.
The best bang for my buck looks like a ZX11
with the oil pan mods,or a 1200 bandit.Both
will need lockup clutches.I just want a nice
streetable bike,not a dragbike.Once you stretch
one way out, nobody will race you anyway, unless
it is similar bike.I don't have the budget for
all out street racing anymore.Just the occasional
run without money on the line.

put a decent swingarm and some good tires and shocks on that 1170 or the z1r and that will take care of a lot of your handling issues.the stock z1r turbos had a lot of problems but nobody really knew how to make a production turbo bike work in those days;)the early zx10s and 11s had their own share of problems ;)
