any special method or tool you guys use to get the c-clip for the piston pins in?

No special tools or method. If you are doing it on the bike make sure you put rags in the open cylinders in case you drop one of them. I learned that the hard way. Luckily the clip fell right into the oil pan and I got it out no problem.

I know I'm going to state the obvious here, but be EXTREMELY careful in using that whatever tool you're planning on using so that it doesn't scratch/gouge the sides of the pistons. :pinch:

nevermind, i used my shim changer prybar to stick em in.

I've used a small pair of needle nose pliers my whole life. Never caused any problems, and can get them in in about 20 seconds.
