Head torque was created by Stread
Does anyone know the torque specs for the head on an 83 KZ550 LTD. I would also like to purchase a service manual of some kind for future repairs. Thanks.

Welcome Stread - I can tell you that the Kz650 head is to be torqued at 18 ft. lbs for the first pass then 28 ft. lbs on the final torque. After the engine has warmed up to temperature, remove the tank and re-cheuqe the torque on the head bolts and the cam cover bolts.

Don't forget to follow the bolt tightening sequence as specified in the manual.

Hope this helps.
