oilpump, possibly fractured? was created by themachine
i went to stick my oilpump back into my 1000J and something caught my eye, i looked closer and it appeared to be a hairline fracture about an inch and a half long that veers off 3 times to other dead end fractures, i took it apart and it appears theres no cracks on the inside, could this be a casting flaw or something i could just ignore? i'd really like to keep this pump because it has very close tolerances but on the other hand i don't need this worrying me all the time.

red illustrates where it is because my camera cant take detailed pics that close.

and on another note my oilpan seems to have tons on hairline cracks all over the front area of it, most of them are on the inside however the outside of it shows plenty too.

There are about five J or P model oil pumps on Ebay right now, avereage prices about $10. Might be worth getting one for the casing alone.

if you want to see for sure have it dye tested, may only be a casting flaw
