Clutch abuse? was created by kzwolfsr
What do you guys call abuse on a clutch? When I start off I rev to like 1500 rpm sometimes and slowly release the clutch and go, but during the ride I just do these quick 1 second slips of the clutch, more like half a second most of the time. Or when I leave home in the morning and the engine has warmed up to not need choke I take of at like about 4000rpm to keep the bike from cutting out on me from still being a little cold.
Any abuse here guys?

I wouldn't say that you're actually abusing it, but you're sure making it earn it's keep! :woohoo:
More than likely it's going to wear out a LOT faster and eventually start slipping.
I used to "feather" the clutch lever while right at the beginning of the redline on the GPz550 I once owned in hopes of gaining a few more HP/MPH when running against the then new ZX600's and CBR600's.
But that was back in my young and ignorant days.
I respect my bike, AND money a lot more now.
