heres my question, the double wall (im assuming) from inside the header pipe that joins to the collection joint has rusted away and broke off!
i just wanted to know if i cut about 1/4 in from header pipe, find the same diameter as inside pipe and same outside pipe, then weld a small pice back on in the place of what i cut off (1/4) with new inside diameter pipe pre-welded on it!!!
ill just draw a pic off it!!!!!

My 2 cents -- forget about it and ride. Inner pipe serves no useful performance function, and exits from factory to help prevent bluing of pipes. Most aftermarket headers are single wall pipes. Outside pipe looks just fine, and I wouldn't be cutting on it or welding on it.

Am guessing elongated protrusion of inner pipe further inside collector probably helped prevent leakage from the pipe/collector joint.
So gaskets should remain in place between collector and outside pipe, regardless of missing extension (rusted off) on inner pipe.
Then, if leak persists, might give this a try
