turbo help again, spray??? was created by jordan
Me again looking for more help with my turbo project. I was looking at some other projects and thought, why not add a little laughing gas(nitrous)haha. I thought maybe that the nitrous would help the motor spool up the turbo so there wouldnt be near as much turbo lag. With a blow through system i would have to mount the nitrous plate between the carb, and the turbo. Would this work? Would the nitrous burn up inside the turbo?

first off, are you doing a blow thru single carb or draw thru single carb?
nitrous wont actually burn, it lets you burn more fuel. its a nonflammable gas that when serious pressure is applied (compression stroke=over 100psi easy) it breaks up into oxygen and nitrogen, the nitrogen acts as a buffer that helps prevent detonation and carries a lot of heat out of the engine, which is why straight oxygen (O2) isnt used.
i would think it should be fine to spray it into the turbo, its the same as a draw thru setup, its just air and fuel if you think about it, the air is just colder. it really shouldnt go kaboom if setup properly(as in dont try a 150 shot) and your turbo doest have sparks in it:woohoo: (you would have a few problems if it did to say the least as you know:silly: )

from my understanding it is bad to use the juice on a, forced induction motor because it promotes knocking.

and from what i'v heard its an even bigger b#$^@ to tune it so it doesnt f$%# your motor up than usual.

its great to help kill turbo lag if you have a big turbo designed for high rpm (especially if its carb'd)
no boost yet? hit some compressed gas to speed things up:evil:  just dont keep it going under full boost, then its a problem, an explosive one:pinch:
definatly have someone with a dyno tune it
