Deep sump oil pan? was created by Samwell
In my ongoing quest to trubo charge my '78 KZ1000, I've doing a lot of reading. The difference between wet and dry sumps etc. I've noticed some people (like Jeff) have something called a deep oil pan. Where do I find such an animal and how important is it?
Right now the engine is out of the frame so replacing anything is fair game - heck the crankshaft is on its way to Falicon for welding, lightening etc.
thanks...

You'll see a deep sump pan on eBay everyonce in a great while. They usually bring high $$ though. I haven't turbo'd anything but I do know there is some kinda of oil restriction/bypass something-or-other you can do to the pressure sending unit to get more oil to the turbo.
I'm sure some of the other guys are more knowledgable with kz turbos than I am.
Later, Doug

There is one on ebay right now. Sorry I don't know how to put up a link. Go to MC parts and type in kz1000 or kz900 I can't remember which one.

I've got one. It's in a little better shape than that one. I've never seen anybody else's...pretty cool.

Thanks for the info. When my project gets that far along (translation: when I've hidden enough cash from the spouse) I'll definitely give him a call.
