is not a graphite gasket.CFM20 from Cometic
is the same as the leaking one that came with
my Wiseco kit.48 bucks plus shipping and I

Wiseco ships Cometic gaskets in their kits (as far as I know anyway).
Since it seems that most, if not all, others have no problem with them, maybe the problem is with your motor?
Maybe the head or block is warped? Or some other problem?
Something to think about anyway.

While you have the head off, you might check your cylinder studs to make sure they aren't preventing a good torque application. If they are causing binding, you will get a false reading.

I had the deck milled, the head was milled last time.
But I had it done again.I siliconed the cam valley
groove this time and will clean and oil the stud
threads and cap nuts.I had always told myself years
ago that if I went this big I would pop for a big-
block.I would put a 1075 cylinder back on it but I was
told with the bored cases the base gasket would leak.

I am totally in the dark as far as what you are working on, so I searched your previous posts and found
This Thread
, so I assume we are talking about your 1197 motor?
APE Jay does a boatload of motors, and he has a reputation to protect, so he would get a bad rep if he shipped out motors that leaked oil. I figure he is probably right when he says to use silicone to fill the O-ring groove.
I'm not a 1000 expert, so I tend to listen to those that are
Anyway, I hope the silicone does the trick and stops your oil leak.
Is this 1197 a street bike? Bet it will be loads of fun to ride.

1977 KZ1000 76mm pistons 10.25 .HD studs
I think they are APE but not 100% sure.
The motor has been apart several times with
61,000 miles currently on the clock.Head
gaskets were always an issue untill the
graphite ones came out.
