z1 one piece head gasket was created by wylderide
I just got a z1 motor and am doing some work to it. I tore it apart and it has the one piece head gasket. The kawi stealer closest to me says they cannot get me any parts. I'm looking for some gaskets, the chain guides, and any other things that may need to be replaced. any thoughts on where to get these parts?? Jeff@z1ent?? I saw several gaskets on his site, and don't know which ones I would need. thanks for your help. Kody.

Hope this helps. If going by the engine numbers, would also look for the 0-ring groove.
Excerpt from Chapter 3 --
ORIGINALLY THE Z1 WAS FITTED WITH A SINGLE ONE-PIECE HEAD GASKET BUT IT WAS SOON DISCOVERED THAT THIS CAUSED EXCESSIVE OIL LEAKS FROM AROUND THE CAM CHAIN TUNNEL AREA.
KAWASAKI MODIFIED THE CYLINDERS FROM ENGINE NUMBER Z1E-14319 ONWARDS. THIS MODIFICATION CONSISTED OF A GROVE MACHINED AROUND THE TOP OF THE CAM CHAIN TUNNEL WHICH WAS THEN FITTED WITH A SHAPED O`RING. THE PART NUMBER FOR THIS O`RING WAS 92055-062. A TWO PIECE HEAD GASKET WAS THEN FITTED, BOTH HALVES BEING THE SAME. THE PART NUMBER OF THESE GASKETS WAS 11004-066. THIS SEEMED TO CURE THE PROBLEM.

Jeff has all the parts you need. I got a gasket set from him for x-mas and it has everything you need. I'm also finding all of the bad cam chain psrts as I go along so I'm happy he has everything I need.

I wanted a new set of cams but she got me the gaskets and a bunch of clothes. I dumped her after that. I got her a $500 watch and some smelly stuff. I should have held out for the new tool box she said she would get me for my birthday in August.
