kz650 oil pan gasket? stubborn leak was created by scumbag
so I have been fighting with my oil pan to get it to stop leaking to no avail...

done it all...liquid gasket...had made gasket..bla bla bla...even tried a new pan all together

so I was thinkin maybe one of you have an oil pan gasket sitting around possibly? OOOooorrr maybe some other brands of liquid gasket I could try that have worked for you?

thanks all

Try a nice smooth bead of Black RTV. The trick is to let it cure BEFORE you install the pan. Haven't tried it on my bike yet (no need yet). But it's worked well on various other projects, Including intake manifolds, and oil pans.
Good luck!

if you have done that much work and it still dosent seal, are you sure it from the pan and not someplace else running down? just a thought, seems like you should have got it with what you are doing

The "oil pan gasket leaking" is the exact same idea as "head gasket leaking". Same fix, not a gasket at all, but hardened o-rings. They use 3 92055-077 "O" RING O.D.=19.5 These will leak. A gasket on an oil pan will never go bad unless it was installed wrong, and no sealer is advised or necessary.

Well do any of you goons have a gasket? I really just do not want to buy a whole gasket kit...have not seen them for sale singularly anywhere

the pan that I have right now has no marred surfaces and I just got in the mail today new rubber "O" rings...I really just want to cave and get a gasket...sick of doing the whole liquid route

Sorry, but this, "goon" as you call us doesn't have a gasket. If you have been though all that and it still leaks, seems there is an uneven mating surface somewhere on the block or pan.

Brian,

I know they don't have them listed, but check with Jeff at Z1 Ent and see if he can get you the gasket.
You could also check with this eBay seller to see if he/she has the gasket available seperately:
MOTORCYCLE PARTS BARN
I've bought from them before and they WILL go the extra mile to help out, even if it's only a part worth a few dollars.

You do know that the '82 KZ750-R1/'83~'84 ZX750-A1/A2 GPz's (not the Turbo though), ZR750 Zephyr, ZN700/ZN750 as well as a most/all of the KZ750-4's use the same oil pan gasket, right?
That's how I've found all of the ones I've bought in the past on eBay. Heck, I don't think I spent more than $15 including shipping for any one of them, and I've bought at least 6.

I don't know if it would make a diff or not, but are you installing the 3 smaller o-rings Ron mentioned correctly?
The flat side should go into the "groove" in the engine and the "V" shaped side faces the oil pan.
I usually give them a light coating of grease to prevent them from falling out of the little grooves in the engine before I can get the pan placed up against them and hold them securely - haven't had a leak yet.

If you're not able to locate an oil pan gasket, I just MIGHT be persuaded to part with the extra one I have. ;)

Any dealer should have the gasket or can order you one for $15 or so. 11009-1983

I've only done my pan gasket once (removed for stripped pan bolt) cleaned surface, installed gasket dry and never leaked. So I agree that you have a irregular mating surface problem or "O" ring problem.
