f@&*%ing bike runs irratic and idles 4-5k rpm when warmed up

ha ok well thanks for all of the help everybody, turns out when its doing that high idle crap i couldn't notice a change in idle with the spray trick, however i repeated that and noticed it would smoke out the tail pipe, the rod that runs through both carbs for the throttle linkage was leakin like a sive, so for a whopping 30 cents a piece i just bought some rubber caps and put them right over top, they allow for the throttle to still move freely and BAM purrrrrrrrs like a kitten, yea its a temporary fix limited by the weathering life of the rubber caps but hey for 30 cents a piece i think i can afford to replace them as often as necessary.

if you dont mind me askin what kind of rubber caps did you get to cover up the throttle linkage ?? And also i wonder what would be the permanant fix to it? Thanks
