Yoshi pipe help?

How do i get the can off? I removed the three bolts and figure it would slide right off. I even tapped on it with a rubber hammer. I need to get it off so i can fit the rest of the pipe in a sandblaster.

Thanks for any ideas!

1. Clamp the pipe in a vise carefully between a set of wood blocks.

2. Heat the junction with a propane torch - moderately - don't go ape for a cherry glow.

3. Spray the junction with "Blaster" or WD-40 and steer clear of the smoke.

4. Tap harder. - using a wood block or a rubber sanding block as a cushion on the can lip, alternating side-to-side. ;)

Might still give you a bit of a problem, things look to have been warped a pit out of round when the bolts got cranked down.

Just had another idea...

To avoid marking up the can, get yourself a muffler clamp large enough to fit over the pipe but not over the lip of the can, wrap the parts of the clamp that will make contact with the can with duct tape, install it as a collar over the pipe, grab the plate end with a pair of vise grips and whap on the clamp around its circumference.

Much easier to get uniform whaps on the can without marking it up. ;)
