Different bars means different cables was created by zippywhoosh
I've replaced my stock bars (a 650b1) with drag bars. Well lo and behold the throttle cables and cluth cable are way too long. (The electrical is flexible enough to stuff out of the way) What are the best sources for replacement cables....i.e. do I go to my local shop and say I need throttle cable xx inches long or I am going to need to go to a specialty shop?
What have other peolpe done in this situation?
Thanks
Scott

The cables on your 650 are not unique. I suggest you measure them and then call
www.z1enterprises.com
and tell them the length you do need. They will be able to set you up with cables that are better suited for the lower handlebars.

I had same issue on my 650. Tweaked cable routing to try contain longer length and ensure no binding. Worked ok for me. Did not bother with shorter cables.

When I went to the superbike bend I did not replace my cables. Just rerouted and everthing seems to work out fine. The throttle cables might be a tad long, but you can't really tell and it doesn't cause any problems.
Oh and you might also need to think about your front brake hose. I could use a shorter one, but for now am just living with the stocker.
