You've got to try this metal polish!

My neighbor(paint/body guy) turned me on to this stuff.
I've never been one that would sit for a long time just to make something shine. But holy crap! This stuff is awesome! With little effort I was able to turn my nasty looking intake tubes on my GL1000 into a mirror shine. It took all that white build up oxidation and years of grime off like it was nothing! I even tried it on the fork bottoms... It made them shine too!
Just wanted to pass this on to all you guys.

I always thought Simichrome was good stuff until I tried Blue Magic. Haven't seen anything yet that tops it...

BUT, Reborn650 sang the praises of some stuff up they have up in The Great White North called "Auto Sol" to the extent he's shipping me a tube to try out.

I'm dipsosed to think that metal polish formulas are pretty well understood by now and that the "miracle" in Miracle Polish(tm) is largely due to relatively minor differences in recipe - but I can always be wrong.

Looking forward to giving Auto Sol a test buff - I'll put up something regarding the results... B)

Well, seeing as how it's great and white out here in the north, I'd better hobble on over to the Canadian Tire next door and pick me up some AutoSol before it gets bought out by you yanks looking for a better polish!

*Thanks for letting the cat out of the bag, Colin!* :pinch: :silly:

I'm intrigued! Too bad this stuff isn't available at Wal*Mart stores everywhere!

Thanks, cnyl for the tip on White Diamond. I haven't seen it at my autoparts store, but I'll keep an eye out.
The best thing I've found so far is called Mr. Buffer. It's not available here in CA, but I ordered a bottle from their web site, www.mrbuffer.com .
Mr. Buffer is the best I've used so far, and it works great on chome or aluminum.

My buddy swore by Blue Magic untill he tried the White Diamond cleaner/polish. I bought him a bottle to try, he now wants to split a case with me. He says it's much easier to get a great shine.

And no I don't work for them...

I'll take some before and after pics tonight for ya.

I think they are mail order only. I asked them if they had samples of the 2 products. Not at this time.:(

Here's spme pics for ya.... I spent about 45 seconds on it. I chose a filthy float bowl on my Kz550. It's hard to get the shine to show on camera..

I spent about 10 min on my 76 GL1000. They were nasty!!

Someone should volunteer to do a study on all these polishes. We could all send a sample of our favorite polish to a trusted member who knew a thing or two about polishing covers and have them do a test polish on an old cover. I've tried Flitz, Wenol, and Mothers but have never gotten anywhere near the results I've seen others on here get. Any volunteers?

The winner of our tests could then market themselves as "The Official Polish of KZR". Maybe they'd even pony up some greenbacks to cover operating costs.

Always been a Simichrome man but it's a little hard to find. Using Mother's right now and it's not near as good. Will keep an eye on what you guys say and think.
