Valvecover bolt torques
25 Apr 2007 04:35
Hey can anyone shed some light on this. I have a J motor and the Kawi and Clymer manuals says 87-90 inch pounds of torque on the valvecover bolts. This seems extreme since the bolts are only 6mm. I'm worried I'll strip or crack the head. The question is,can I get away with 75 inch pounds(this seems alot also)?

90 inch pounds is only about 7.5 ft. pounds, that's really not a whole lot.
But I do mine just by feel too.
