J-Engine Good?

The guy who gave me this '81 KZ1000 said it had a "J" engine, which at the time meant nothing to me. The first several letters on the engine are: KZT00JE, does that mean this is a J engine? What's so special about it?

Thanks, Guys.

I pulled the crusty carbs off it and gave it some oil on top of the cylinders. Then I cranked it over with very little trouble using my marine battery and jumper cables. No telling how many miles on the engine since its not the original.

Once I get the carbs cleaned and the wiring sano I will try to give it a start.
