starter clutch...again! was created by bcteel
Thanks for everyones help in my other post. I think I have my bike all fixed, after fighting with the thing for weeks. Sounds great? Well, I put the carbs on and got everything ready to start it up. I expected a nice rumble, I got a high pitched spinning sound. The starter clutch. I hate the starter clutch! I just replaced it in spring of 2005, so it's not really that old, and I don't put many miles on. But yet, it's not working. Even worse, is itn won't engage at all. The first time, I let it slide a year, now, I have to do it again, and I am not even 100% sure the bike will even run when i'm done. It's a real bummer. Anyone around Springfield missouri wanna help me with this one?

I'm assuming it's a similar set-up like the 1000...
Did You get the 3 springs and barrels installed properly?
Are You sure that the rotor isn't just spinning on the crank, and that the clutch IS engaging?
