Repacking a stock muffler? was created by TheDoughboy
Hey All,
I am going to pop off my muffler end caps to repair the additional holes added by the previous owner. I was thinking about repacking the core inside while they were off.
Since I have Stock megaphone sytle pipes on my 1100 LTD, I figure this can be done. Has anyone else here repacked Stock pipes? If so, have any tips, other than masking tape? I have used the search funtion already
Thanks!
Ron

prety sure your stock mufflers won't have any packing in them, they are designed with internal baffles to change the direction of the gas flow to lower the noise.
mainly aftermarket straight through mufflers have fibreglass packing
