The ones that came with my bike had more of a wraparound look to them. Will the copper ones be just as good?

AH! youre right, wireman--that means I need to order the copper gaskets anyway BUT my split flanges are in pretty bad shape. Do I need to replace them or just scrub them up some and stick 'em back on?

I use VW singal port intake gaskets. They work great and cost way less than M/C gaskets.

I've never tried this, but someone told me that you can take the crushed copper gasket, heat it up till it's cherry red, then plunge it into water. And it will pop back open, like when it was new.
Can anyone confirm this?
