2 into 1

I would like to take my stock front pipes from my 650 and put 3" pipe for the exhaust "tips". It would look kinda like an exhaust header on a car, but two into one. Is this possibe with some hammering and weld or is this not a good idea both running wise and looks? I think it would sound really cool, as long as the sound cops don't care!

If you do absolute straight pipes your going to need to rejet your carbs and your exhaust will look like a homemade exhaust unless you are good with a welder and you have it chromed. You should take a look at Mac exhausts. They have a 2 into 1 system with a turnout instead of a megaphone. It would not require rejetting and they look damn good. The only downside is they can be around $300.
