bikes dies while idling
24 Mar 2007 20:13
alright, i don't mean to keep bugging the forums but this bikes has me confused. as usual it is the kz550 ltd. it was giving me problems earlier in the day with riding very jerky and wanting to die when i pulled the clutch in or was idling. this was only after i had been riding it for awhile. i replaced the fuel filter, the jerkyness went away but i just got back from riding and at the end of about a 45min ride every time i pulled my clutch in, my rpms would drop rapidly and eventually the bike would die. any ideas?, and for all the help, if anyone is in st. louis. round of beer is on me lol.

Sounds like clogged pilot jets. Was the bike sitting for an extended pereod of time with gas in the carbs?
That is the number one problem I see when people bring me their newly purchased used bike.
