I'm looking for a real repair tech in Indianapolis that can (correctly) do what the KZ needs. Dealers/shops won't touch old bikes. Parts replacers and armchair mechs are happy to mess things up for me. Anybody got a recommendation? thanks in advance

my best reccomendation is do it yourself, it feels a whole lot better, I do!

1979 KZ SR650, stock candy persimmon red and crossover pipes
1981 KZ 1000LTD with non stock and more comfortable handle bars and 4 into one V&H

I must agree... it does feel better. Honestly I do alot but I know my limitations. I don't have the time, experience, tools, or patience for an engine overhaul. I enjoy doing the rest of it though. Maybe when I retire, if I ever get to. ha

There is a shop in Eaton (65-70 miles from Indy) that specializes in building KZ1000 dragbike motors, I think Raceteck is the name. I have not dealt with him, as he thinks his used parts are worth a lot more than I do.

Shannon Clem (OSR, Old School Racing) is in Indy, I think he may build motors for others, but I'm not sure.
