KZ1100 questions was created by WTF!
I am looking for a few answers for a couple of questions about this model of KZ1100.
www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=92507695&key=38607
Please: What model of motor is this? Is it a 'J'?
and what model of Carburettor was fitted?
I am hoping to buy the wreck and use the front end for my Z1 project (photos to come in project forum)
It sure would be nice to have a motor that I could build up too.

WTF!:
Sure looks like a KZ(Z)1000K model (=LTD) which would make it either a 1981 or 1982 year model...the proviso being sometimes Mother Kawaski kept models in circulation longer in other parts of the world than North America. By 1984, the only big LTD sold in NA was the KZ1100L model (shaft drive)...so, it is possible it is a 1983/4, but likely that the bike is 1981/2...unless of course, New Zealand registers bikes by the year they are sold, not the year they are manufactured (like the UK).
To answer your questions, it is a 'J' motor and came with Mikuni BS34 carbs.
