My Z1 juststarted making a little cam chain noise. does anybody know how to adjust the manual cam chain adjuster, should i turn the 17mm nut under the points cover to 1,4 or 2,3 and how do i know when the adjuster is tight enough

Well you can turn the ignition nut if you want and go through the specific steps which will give you some relief. When I tighten my chain with my manual tensioner I just loosen the locking nut and turn the bolt by hand to see what slack there is then I take a wrench and turn it like a half turn. Do half turns and start the bike and listen for the chain noise.
