What cams swap in a 1981 ltd 750???? was created by tbax
I have read a few past posts talking about swaping gpz cams into kz 750 heads. I was under the impression that the 1983 gpz model had a different head and cylinder setup than 80 81 82 kz/ltd models. I want to put these hotter cams in but I want to make sure I buy the right cams before I spend my hard-earned ebay money. I'm planning on building a 810 with this 1981 ltd motor I have. All said and done right, do you think it will keep up with a stock 900??? Thanks.

if you get carbs and exhaust to go with the cams and pistons you should be able to match a stock 1000. ask reborn650;)

GPz750 head through 85 will bolt on, as will the cylinder block, the only problem is the 83-85 gpZ750 has no provision for a tach drive, and the 83-85 GPz750 cam has no tach drive gear.

Is the 81 82 gpz or kz 750 head basically the same head as far as flow characteristics and cam grind as the 83-85 gpz head??? If there isn't any difference I guess I'll try to keep my tach.

83-85 GPz750 cam has the most lift and duration of any stock 750 cams.
1980 KZ750 head has the smallest combustion chambers of the 750's, and just needs a little porting to outflow the 83-85 GPz750 head.
