Does around 5000rpm at 60-65mph in 5th gear sound about right?

Would it matter that my kz900 has a 1000cc engine? If not, could this be an indicator that the clutches are worn?

How many teeth on front and rear sprockets???? IF you got a big rear sprocket its going to make your revs high on the highway....

Not much, if at all.
Possibly, but the largest single influence on the rpm/speed game is gonna be gearing.
It's possible a previous owner upped the rear sprocket by a couple of teeth over stock to get a little extra low end zip around town.

I reinstalled the baffle in the exhaust and it seems to run alot better and my rpm's are down. The bike seems to runs smoother with the baffle. Does this make sense? I assume the bike needs to be rejetted to run without the baffle?
