gpz 750turbo to z1

I found these 2 bikes on ebay and was wondering if the efi from the turbo bike could work on my 74 z1.
I recently accuired a j head(stock) and want to turbo it.
Ive heard bad things about the dependability of a draw through setup and bad about blow through setup.
I need to know where to buy stuff to do the turbo without spending $$$$$$$$.
I can fabricate plenty, have access to machine shop
(old school manual equip.)
I also have a t25 turbo on a sand rail I plumbed myself
and it works perfect (2.3 efi ford) would this be the best turbo to use or the smaller t2? eBay Link

I would like to turbo my z1. I want to use the j head to lower comp. and I would love EFI. I googled "kawasaki z1 turbo" in the images and came across a bike with blow through set up and would like to use something similar. www.tanshaya.com/Z1Turbo1.htm

my 1385 project is gonna have the turbo mounted up front like that, but it will have just a banana pipe coming off of it.there will be a stainless tube running from the turbo up around like the exhuast normally does on a turbo but it will be force feeding the air to a plenum back where the carbs normally sit with injectors built into it and the nitrous injectors will be plumbed in there somewhere too! about time to start some turbo plumbing i guess!

What kind of injection system are you using.
I have access to a complete gpz1100 injection system,
would this be worth using ($300) for turbo. And where did you find your header?, I am having no luck.:(

You can use the 750 turbo EFI system, the GPz1100 system is no good as it does not have the range of fuelling (fires every rev instead of every other rev) and has smaller injectors. The T25 turbo will be ok for 200hp, if you want more look at www.turbobygarrett.com . You can use the 1100 injector bodies, they will fit right in your 900 head. You will have to make your own exhaust headers as they are wider spaced than the 750s. If you fit modern high-impedance injectors you can wire in a Powercommander 3 to tune the fuelling just like a modern bike. Instructions are on my site.

I would be concerned about the turbo being mounted so close to the block. I have worked on plenty of turboed cars and there is substancial heat shielding included between the turbo and the block and they are water cooled engines to boot. We dropped a Mitsubishi 4G63 2.0lt turbo into a 1973 Galant GTO and upped the boost a bit. While test running on the dyno at 100 mph with a fan forcing air into the engine bay, the turbo ran cherry red and the impeller blades were clearly visible.
That is gonna melt some alloy...

i think im in love! :P i like it,i want to try and keep my turbo above bottem of lower frame tube though.i dont forsee any overheating problems with it mounted up front if anything i think it will run cooler with the turbo being exposed to all the cool air up front.it will also help keep the motor cooler without the exhuast running up to back side of motor heating things up,i also think having it up close to exhuast ports will help turbo spin up faster
