You don't say anything about head or cams, so assuming both are stock I'll guess 100 hp tops. According to Zedder, stock hp is 85.

For an accurate number you'll have to stick it on a dyno.

With what you have listed, I'd say maybe 80 RWHP on a Dyno Jet Dyno.

ok heres another combination for Larry to guesstimate.1197 13.5:1s,mildly ported head with stock size valves,435 cams,28mm carbs with k&ns,4n1 and dyna ignition.im sure the 28s hurt the topside a little but it had bottem end to spare!

Can I jump in there too, since Larry's 80 RWHP is pretty close to my 100 crank hp?

My guess is 140-160 crank hp, depending upon what exactly "mildly ported" is.

Subtract your preferred driveline loss percentage to arrive at rwhp.

That's my guess anyway.

howabout my j motor with the ports polished, a 1260cc 10.5:1 ape piston kit, open header, the 34mukini's pods and someday perhaps some gpz cams or a little better than stock cams.

oh, and do i have to have my block/cases bored for the new sleeves?

Man, I haven't seen a 3408 in an OTR truck for years! Them and the old Cummins KT motors used to rule the roost, my buddy's 16V71 (out of a tugboat originally) could still beat them, as long as he didn't break a u-joint

My guesses are just that, a guess, so put it on a dyno and get real world numbers, nothing else counts :)

I had a discussion with Larry as to what it would take to get 130 rwhp out of a J motor, the following is what he suggested (and seems reasonably accurate to me).
1105 pistons in an 1100 block (I specified)
Head fully ported with the largest valves that fit stock seats,
435 (or equivalent) cams with shim under buckets.
APE valve springs.
GPz1100 throttle bodies (I specified) bored and flowed by Sid Pogue.
Decent 4 into 1 exhaust.

Sheesh, I step into the dark side (1000 fours), and it sucks all my money away :woohoo:

I"m going to say about 108-113RWHP @ 9000 RPM on a Dyno Jet Dyno.
About 143-149 at the crank on a Superflow Engine Dyno.

That's based on an 80CFM@10" head or between 124 - 135CFM @28".

If you can give me the head flow at .380 lift with the full intake tract assembled and flowed on the head. I should be able to nail it down pretty darn close.
