I already cleaned the carbs and tried changing to diffrent clip positions, but there is no diffrence in fuel consumption. It is now at the second to the lowest clip groove anything higher and it starts to pop off thru carbs. And I have 3/4 turns on the adjustment screws. Plugs are always a little black and sooty. :)

the lower you go on the needle with the clip grooves, the richer the carbs are. try going the other way. move the clip closer to the top of the needle. this will make it leaner.

When I go higher with the clip grooves, it pops off thru the carbs. It means its too lean, right?:)

If pilot mixture screws are on the carb side, only 3/4 turn out may be too rich as this would not let enough air into the idle circuit. Believe starting point should be 1 and 1/4 -- then screw in (clockwise) to get richer and screw out to get leaner.

If pilot mixture screws are on the carb bottom, only 3/4 turn out may be too lean as this would not let enough fuel mixture into the idle circuit.

Plug reading indicates too rich.

Perhaps already mentioned, but is the air filter clean and unobstructed?

Has actual on-the-bike service fuel level been checked to see if it's too high? This can cause excessively rich mixture with an otherwise perfect carb. Use the clear plastic tube method (described in other threads).

Would not rely on the upside down measured bench adjustment method of setting the float height, because it may fail to result in a correct actual fuel level.

Just throwing some ideas, and wish you good luck. :)

Underinflated tires can also result in lower fuel mileage.:)

Thanks, I'll check the fuel level with clear plastic tube method. And back out the adjustment screws.:)

you have weak spark and are not burning all the fuel.

Nads got there just before I did I see.

Probably a problem with the ignition.
